  • 10/27/07 - We will begin taking online and phone reservations for our Thanksgiving feast on Monday, October 29. FAQs about the reservation/payment process are being developed and will be posted on the Thanksgiving page on Sunday, October 28.

  • 10/20/07 - Joseph Puentes was kind enough to record our September 22 panel discussion with the Ethical Culture Society, and has posted the audio (mp3 files) on his website. We'll also soon make available summary write-ups of the panelists' thoughts.

  • 10/13/07 - Several events have been added to the calendar through the remainder of 2007, including a potluck/talk on kinesiology and animals (November 10) and our annual holiday potluck (December 8). Please join us at these and our other events!

  • 9/16/07 - Jane Goodall will be giving a talk at Duke University on October 16 (this is a non-TVS event).

  • 9/15/07 - Just after the Compassionate Living Festival ends on Sunday, October 7, we will have a brunch and talk on Ayurveda by TVSer Tom Mitchell.

  • 9/1/07 - The rescheduled August restaurant review will take place at Suchi Indian Cuisine in Cary this Friday, September 7, at 7:00 pm.

  • 7/16/07 - Added the July restaurant review to the calendar, taking place at Twisted Noodles in Durham this Saturday, July 21, at 7:00 pm.

  • 7/9/07 - Added a non-TVS event to the calendar for July 21: a vegan potluck dinner at the Solterra Community's Common House in Durham.

  • 7/4/07 - Ron Neumann, who hosted a potluck last month at his home which uses geothermal and solar energy, has provided his recent energy bill history and some websites and phone numbers that might be useful.

  • 7/3/07 - Information in Dilip's last e-newsletter about the passing of Dietrich von Haugwitz has been archived on a memorial page.

    Dietrich's collection of video tapes on animal issues is being maintained by Beth Levine - please contact her at bethforanimals@earthlink.net or 919-845-3035 to borrow any of the material.

  • 6/14/07 - The discussion on companion animal kinesiology tentatively scheduled for this month has been postponed until late 2007/early 2008.
  • 5/19/07 - Added a non-TVS event to the calendar for this Tuesday, May 22: a free lecture, "Ancient Secrets of Ayurveda", by Dr. Pankaj Naram, Ayurvedic master. Dr. Naram, a lifelong vegetarian, practices Ayurveda as a medical system that includes a vegetarian diet as a key component.
  • 4/28/07 - Due to a Friday night family hospitalization, Saurabh Dalal has had to cancel his talk at our potluck tonight. In his place, we're lucky to have TVSer Pravin Shah, Education Coordinator for the Federation of Jain Associations in North America, giving a talk on this topic.
  • 4/28/07 - On May 12, we will have a potluck dinner and a talk by Will Tuttle, an advocate for veganism, peace, and the animals for 25 years. See the calendar for more details.
  • 4/21/07 - On April 29, Jeffrey Smith will speak on his new book about the health risks of genetically engineered food. See the calendar for more details.
